Cetuximab-induced anaphylaxis and IgE specific for galactose-[alpha]-1, 3-galactose
Article Abstract:
A study to investigate the high prevalence of hypersensitivity reactions to monoclonal antibody cetuximab, used in the treatment of colorectal cancer and carcinoma of the head and neck is conducted. Findings reveal that all the reactions were associated with IgE antibodies against galactose-[alpha]-1, 3-galactose that was present before the treatment with cetuximab.
